Abstract
Title: The Relationship between Nodulocystic Acne and Active H.pylori Introduction: The prevalence of nodulocystic acne in young and adolescent spectrum is high and it decreases the quality of life of individuals, which is necessary to identify the factors affecting the onset of the disease. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the association between nodulocystic acne with Helicobacter pylori. Materials and Method: This study was performed on 134 patients (67 nodulocystic acne patients and 67 controls). After obtaining patient satisfaction and recording demographic information, serum IgG and fecal serum levels of Helicobacter pylori antigen were recorded. Chi-Square Mann-Whitney tests were used to compare the data. Results: The results of our study showed that mean and standard deviation of serum IgG level (22.9 vs. 20.15 U / ml) and positive fecal antigen (73.1% vs. 65.7%) in the affected patients There was no significant difference between nodulocystic acne and control group (P> 0.05). Discussion: Due to the lack of association between the two diseases, other causes for the development of nodulocystic acne in the next study should be investigated in order to better identify the physiopathology of acne nodulocysts.
