Abstract

Title: Epidemiology and risk factors of tuberculosis in Sabzevar University of Medical Sciences during the years 1388-1392 The subject and the need for research: Tuberculosis is one of the oldest known diseases that are the major causes of death in the world today. The disease is caused by bacteria belonging to the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex and usually affects the lungs , although other organs in 1/3 cases such as the pleura , lymph nodes , mediastinum , bones, joints , meninges genitourinary tract , gastrointestinal tract. During the survey in 1390 in Iran, were observed: Incidence of tuberculosis and Golestan provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan more and in accordance with smear positive trend in the city of Fasa and smear negative pulmonary tuberculosis and extra-pulmonary tuberculosis Golestan Province Sabzevar and Gillan, It is necessary to pay more attention to these areas and appropriate control measures to be applied in this city . METHODS: This study is consisted of patients with tuberculosis who were treated between 1392-1388 by Health Center , has examined . Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 22 . Results : In this study, 150 patients with TB are 85 ( 56.7 % ) were diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis , Over 65 years of age , a higher percentage to be allocated , Extra- pulmonary number of men than women ( 65 % ). More people are also living in the city . In this study, pleural pulmonary tuberculosis and later had the largest number of lymph nodes and meninges . Conclusion : In this study, patients with extra pulmonary tuberculosis is higher than the rest of the city ( 43.3 % ) and also in Patients with smear-positive cases of pulmonary tuberculosis is significant ( 60 % ). The need for prevention and treatment of them is required . Key words : epidemiology , tuberculosis , members involved in tuberculosis
