Abstract

Introduction: Urinary tract infection (UTI) is one of the most common infectious diseases in children. Several factors have caused it. The irreversible complications of UTI are one of the most important issues thatEarly diagnosis and proper treatment in the early stages can prevent long-term complications in children. The purpose of this study is to identify risk factors for preventing UTI in children. Materials& Methods: This Cross-Sectional study was performed on 150 hospitalized patients less than 16 years of age referred to Heshmatiyeh Hospital in Sabzevar in 2016: UTI and non UTI and the two groups were compared for each possible cause of UTI. Data were analyzed using T-test, K2 and Fisher test with 95% confidence interval. The significance level was considered to be less than 0.05. Findings: From the 150 cases that examined, 80% were girls and 20% were male in both groups. The findings of this study indicated that In addition to the known risk factorsOther factors, including the mother's level of education, socioeconomic level of the family, living location, access to health services and family therapy on urinary tract infection are effective As well as there was a significant correlationbetween individual health and basic issues like training parents and children about basic hygiene measures, and the rate of urinary tract infection. Conclusion: According to the results of this study, According to the results of this study, the timely detection of urinary tract infection and identify possible risk factors should be considered.
