Abstract

Background and Aims: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the meaning of life, emotional intelligence and happiness of nursing students of Sabzevar university of medical sciences. Materials and Methods: This was descriptive-analytic studyin which 245 of undergraduate nursing students of Sabzevar university of medical Sciences were the statistical population. The stratified random sampling was applied for selecting 145 people. The standard questionair of life meaning (MLQ), Bradberry and Greaves emotional intelligence and Oxford happiness study Instruments. Results: A total of 145 nursing students participated in this study. 41/4 of them were males and 58/6 females. The average age of participants was 20/67±1/41 and 61/4 of them were single and 38/6 were married. The 59/3 native and 40/7 were non-native.The results of correlation analysis showed that emotional intelligence and happiness and the meaning of life and their components have a significant positive relationship. Regression analysis also showed that 21/1 percent of predictive variables explain happiness. Conclusion: High emotional intelligence and life meaning showed relation with increasing in happiness of nursing students.
