Abstract
Background and Aim: The acute pain create in while change dressing in hospitalized burned patients. Usage The supplement method and side effect free for reduce pain is very important in burned patients while change dressing. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) in pain controlling while change dressing in hospitalized burned patients. Materials and Methods: This is a clinical trial study that 60 hospitalized burned patients to burn part in Sabzevar Vasee hospital in 2014. The patients divided simply randomize to three group control (20 peoples), case (20 peoples) and placebo (20 peoples). To third bedridden, takes morphine in group control, TENS with morphine in case group and placebo TENS with morphine in placebo group before beginning change dressing and then changed dresses. Finally after change dressing assessed intensity of patient’s pain according to, pain numeric scale 0-10. Data analyzed with Friedman, Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-wallis tests by SPSS software of 18 version. Meanwhile utilized P value under 0.05 was assumed as significant in statistics tests. Results: Be pain average in control group 5.45±0.52, in case group 5.00±0.48 and in placebo group 7.00±0.56. Was assumed as significant between three group (P=0.00). Conclusion: to use of the TENS associate with morphine is effectiveness to reduce of pain burned patients while change dressing.
