Abstract

Title: Compare the effectiveness of SMS-based and telegram education with training on common complaints of pregnancy in pregnant women referred to health centers of Mashhad Number One (2017). Background and Purpose: Pregnancy is accompanied by a lot of physiological and biomechanical changes, which cause the common complaints during pregnancy. yet, Training to mothers could be helpful to minimize these problems. Hence this paper was carried out to compare the effectiveness of SMS-based, telegram-based and in-person training on the Decrease of common complaints during pregnancy among pregnant mothers of Mashhad. Methodology: This papre was an semi-experimental and community-based study of pregnant mothers. Three metropolitan areas (High, medium, marginal) 3 centers were selected randomly And in each center after determining the entry criteria and Finally, 100 pregnant women participated in the study until the end. The data collection instrument was author-made questionnaire. After the pre-test, the training program was implemented in the groups. That way, In the attendance group (4 meetings) and in other two groups as four times and training content was delivered to the mothers in the CD format. Post-test was performed among the mothers at three groups one week afterward and two months after completion of training and all questionnaires were again refilled. Finally, the data were analyzed by SPSS 20 and descriptive statistical approaches such as Freedman, Kruskal-Wallis', chi-square and Anova. findings: The score for "common complaints of pregnancy", one week and two months after intervention were significantly different in any training procedure of telegram utilization(P<0.001), sms utilization(P<0.001) and In-person training (P<0.008). But comparing the "score of common complaints of pregnancy" before and one week after the intervention (p = 0.09), before intervention and two months after the intervention (p = 0.17), using three telegrams, SMS and in-presence training No significant difference was found. The most common complaint was irregular fatigue (mean rank=3.29) and the least common problem was devoted to edema (mean rank=6.96). conclusion: The results indicated that not in-person training and remote training using modern communication technologies such as SMS and telegram equally could be effective to enhance adoptions of the theoretical and practical advice (physical exercises) affecting on the common complaints during pregnancy and finally cause to decrease them.
