Abstract

Title: Comparison of effectiveness of combined extract of Fumaria parviflora, Salix aegyptiaca, Taraxacum officinale ,Coriandrum sativum L. With Vit E on improvement of liver enzyme in fatty liver disease . Abstract: Introduction: Fatty liver is a high prevalence liver disease around the world, and Failure to properly and timely treatment can lead to serious consequences such as cirrhosis of the liver. So far, no definite treatment has been identified for this disease; So finding a definitive and well-defined therapeutic remedy has so far been a source of research in this regard. The aim of this study was to evaluate the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver using a combination of extracts of herbs, coriander, pistachio and Chicory and compare it with vitamin E as a reference drug. Material and methods: This project was performed on 92 outpatients aged 20 to 60 years old who have been diagnosed with fatty liver disease and referred to the clinic of Vasei Hospital in Sabzevar and have criteria for entering the study. The subjects were randomly divided into two groups: a group of pateients were treated with herbal extracts and the other group received vitamin E. As a result, comparison of serum aminotransferases (AST, ALT), FBS and TG were performed before and after treatment. Results: Of the 92 samples examined, 41.5% of the recipients received vitamin E and 48.8% of the group received the herbal medicine. The extract of the plant was effective in reducing serum aminotransferases (AST, ALT) , cholesterol and FBS; however, it did not significantly affect serum triglyceride. On the other hand, vitamin E is effective in reducing AST, ALT. although considering the average AST in the two groups, it can be said that the extract of the medicinal plant has led to a decrease in AST compared to vitamin E. Mean ALT in the two groups did not differ significantly. Vitamin E is also on Triglyceride, serum cholesterol and FBS had no significant effect. Discussion & Conclusion: According to the results of this study, the combined extract of Fumaria parviflora, Salix aegyptiaca, Taraxacum officinale ,Coriandrum sativum L. appears to be effective in reducing serum aminotransferases in non-alcoholic fatty liver patients and It can provide further studies in the future as an appropriate drug for these patients and It can provide further studies in the future as an appropriate drug for these patients. In addition, due to its effect on other parameters such as cholesterol and fasting blood glucose, it can also be more effective than Vitamin E.
